I take photos so that I never cease to look

Not to stay on the surface of things but to dig, to go deeper and discover what is behind the eyes of people. Everything which is different and apparently distant is what has always fascinated me. Colours, small lanes, houses, villages, clothes, the unusual; this is what I want to bring into view. Discovery doesn’t always mean beauty. It is often the suffering, disadvantage and poverty which calls to us to be brought into the light and into our consciousness: but what is surprising is how these express the reality, the sense of not being hidden and of disturbing our existence.

Travel and reporting photos is a mission which is taken up by pioneers and those who seek to seize life. Many of my reports have been commissioned by agencies, NGOs, charities… with the aim of not leaving unrevealed any aspect of humanity.
